From 11 to 14 June 2026, Pixel Arcade in Den Bosch will be all about rhythm games. ITG Eurocup is a four-day event for the European In The Groove community and beyond, bringing players together for competition, side events, free play, and of course a lot of time on the dance pads.
The event takes place at Pixel Arcade on the Tramkade, close to the city center of Den Bosch. It is a fitting location for an event like this, with a lot of arcade games already available. Besides ITG, the venue also has many other rhythm games, which makes it a nice place to hang around even when you are not playing in a match yourself.
The main competition is split into several divisions, so there is something for different skill levels and play styles. The Lower, Middle an High Tech are the main and biggest divisions. There is also Doubles, Stamina, and a Variety League, which stays secret until the competition. Next to the ITG divisions, there will also be Pump It Up and StepManiaX competitions. Each division has its own dedicated songlist, focused on the techniques and skills that fit that division.
The qualifiers decide where players are placed.
- Upper division requires at least 96% on the upper qualifier
- Mid division requires at least 92% on the mid qualifier
- Lower division requires at least 80% on the lower qualifier
- Doubles, seeding can be done on any song with difficulty 7 or 12.
Cool about this event is that it is not only focused on competition. There are also several side activities planned during the weekend. Rhythm Game Bingo runs on Friday and Saturday and gives people something fun to do around the venue when they are not competing. The idea is to complete small challenges, explore the arcade, try new things, and find hidden surprises.
There are also a few talks and special activities. On Friday, Michael from the StepManiaX team will give a lecture about the game, its development, hidden details, and easter eggs. On Saturday, Hans, also known as CrackedCaptain, will talk about modern stamina play, from pad setup to sock choice and all the strange details that can matter when trying to go faster and longer. Later on Saturday there is also Couple Trouble, where players are encouraged to team up and play together.
When you are not playing in the competition, you can also free play the other games at the venue. This is included in the ticket, which makes the event feel more like a full rhythm game weekend instead of only a tournament. You can compete, watch, play, try other games, and meet players from other countries.
