About the app
BMGRESS is an app created for score keeping in Beatmania. The game released on arcade is not able to save your scores. This can be frustrating, especially if you want to track your progress and improve yourself.
Since I have access to play “Beatmania THE FINAL”, this is currently the only game that is fully supported. But adding and managing a game can be done entirely through the app, it just takes a bit of work because the information can sometimes be difficult to find for specific games.
What really sets BMGRESS apart is its user-friendliness. The app has an intuitive interface that makes it easy to navigate and use. You can effortlessly browse the different features and update your scores. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, it is always fun to see your progress in the game.
The game Beatmania
But what exactly is Beatmania? Beatmania is a revolutionary rhythm game created by Konami in 1997 and is credited as the founder of the rhythm game genre. The game is a combination of music, timing and skill. As a player, you have to press the right buttons at the right time to mix the music and earn points. It is a challenging and addictive game that has inspired players from all over the world.
The development
The app is written in a VUE framework and works in any browser. The reason for doing this is for accessibility but also as an exercise project after finishing my masterclass in VUE framework. The code is also open-source on github, which means that anyone can access the source files and thus make their own version or contribute to this project. The goal is to eventually keep track of local arcade scores in the form of a highscore list, but otherwise the app is completely finished.
